Brian's far-ranging skills have made him a highly sought-after musical and theatrical artist, particularly in the staging and development of new works.

Brian was cast as a guitarist and caroler in the 2012 world premiere of playwright Eric Coble's adaption of the Les Roberts novella A Carol for Cleveland, which debuted at the Regional Tony Award-winning Cleveland Play House. In addition to his onstage role, Brian served as a session musician, recording guitar parts for sound designer Jane Shaw's underscoring.

In 2013, Brian was cast as Matt LaMont in the world premiere performance of Tuning In, a new musical by songwriter Larry Kass. Tuning In was staged with a professional cast under the direction of Tony-nominated choreographer George Pinney at the University of Akron's EJ Thomas Hall.

In 2014, Brian was cast in the world premiere of Yesterday Once More, an original book musical featuring Grammy-nominated pianist Jim Brickman's arrangements of songs by The Carpenters. Brian was a last-minute replacement, learning his role in a week. The show was staged by Mercury Theater Company.

2014 also saw Brian make his musical theatre composition debut, when he wrote several songs and musical underscoring for an educational production of Alice in Wonderland in Mentor, OH.

In 2015, Brian served as a session musician for Cleveland singer Liz Huff's debut Christmas album, My Favorite Things. Brian recorded ukulele and electric guitar parts for the album.

In 2016, Brian created the role of '60s-era folk rock singer David Thornberg in playwright Anne Cohen's new musical Openings, which received a reading at Cleveland's Ensemble Theater. Brian contributed his vocal, piano, guitar and bass guitar skills to a demo recording being submitted to Off-Broadway producers.
